On Saturday, May 7 at 8:00 p.m., Ensemble Prisme invites the Outaouais public to its first spring concert of 2022 in the beautiful Notre-Dame de la Guadeloupe church with its rich and warm acoustics. We will have the immense pleasure of hearing the music of Mozart and his contemporaries played on the instrument used at that time, the fortepiano. This instrument with its delicate and crystalline timbre gives a light and magical dimension to this no less magical music.
On the program, as the main work, one of Mozart’s greatest works, his first piano quartet, a work of unusual density and drama for the time, with a dreamy slow movement.
We will also be able to discover a composer never before performed in the Outaouais, Jacques Widerkehr, a fascinating French composer with a direct and expressive language. To complete the concert, the very enchanting Trio op 63 by Carl Maria von Weber, creator (according to Richard Wagner) of German opera. His magical imagination is reflected in this most charming work.
Prisme’s musicians, Jeffrey Miller on flute, Frédéric Hodgson on oboe, Laura Nerenberg on violin, Olivier Philippe-Auguste on viola, Anne Contant on cello and Frédéric Lacroix on fortepiano, are eager to share this extraordinary music with you through the through the irreplaceable experience of a live concert.
