« Great romantic music, the very essence of chamber music, served up by very young composers! Brahms, before becoming the ultimate reference in German music at the end of the 19th century, was a precocious genius, hailed by Schumann when he was very young. His first trio, written at the age of 20, was a stroke of genius.
Briton Ethel Smyth, recently brought out of oblivion, was lucky enough to meet Brahms and study with one of his friends. As for her first work, her string quintet, what a way to present herself to the world of music, what a masterstroke! To complete this quintet, the Prisme Ensemble has called on the equally young Aidan Fleet, already an accomplished cellist.
An evening of romantic music carried by the emotion and the passion of youth. »
