On Sunday, June 12 at 2:00 p.m., Ensemble Prisme invites the Outaouais public to its last concert of the 2021-2022 season at the Conservatoire de musique de Gatineau. This concert, entitled Between Youth and Wisdom, will bring together two exciting creations.

The first is by a very young composer, winner of the Ensemble Prisme 2020 composition competition, Alexandre Amat. Then we will hear a work by an experienced composer, the fascinating Francis Ubertelli. Entitled In Media Res,this work was written specifically for Ensemble Prisme.

The rest of the program is made up of highly imaginative pieces from composers of several generations. Dyea for string quartet by Montreal composer Marie-Pierre Brasset brings a breath of fresh air to the concert. The Quartet with clarinet of the Polish genius Krzysztof Penderecki brings an extraordinary depth and energy. Finally, French composer Guillaume Connesson‘s Sextet shows that composers can create works that are easy to listen to, exciting and of great beauty.

In short, an afternoon full of colors and energy to close the season.

The Prisme musicians, Jeffrey Miller on flute, Frédéric Hodgson on oboe, Antonin Cuerrier on clarinet, Andréa Armijo-Fortin and Laura Nerenberg on violins, Olivier Philippe-Auguste on viola, Anne Contant on cello, Paul Machon double bass and Frédéric Lacroix on piano are eager to share this extraordinary music with you through the irreplaceable experience of a live concert.
